This piece looks great for the money. It's solidly built and will easily support heavy coats or a backpack because the feet are spaced at 12". The color is dark cherry and the hooks have a nice satin (nickel) finish. I previously purchased a small CD cabinet from Winsome and, because I was very satisfied with it, I opted for this unit. This unit, like the CD cabinet, was made in Thailand and, for the most part, done right. It was well packed and therefore arrived blemish free. All parts were present and in pristine condition; I always check before I do anything. The instructions were clear and I was able to assemble it with minimal expletives. The fact that I can say that it wasn't too terrible to build is saying quite a bit for the manufacturer because I am terrible with my hands; if there's a way to screw it up, I'll find it, but I didn't with this unit. They did have their little practical jokes. The instructions clearly indicate a "long" side and a "short" side of the base piece; the difference can't be more than 2 millimeters but woe betide you if you get it wrong (as I did, at first) because things will not dovetail together. Also, the lower screw hole on each hook unit is partially blocked by the hook itself, which makes things more "challenging" (expletive deleted). All in all, I'm quite satisfied and can recommend this unit. Four stars rather than five because it didn't assemble itself. This furniture (as with most budget items) is made in Thailand. I was surprised that it is made from actual wood instead of pressed particle fiber and glue. Assembly was easy however the parts fit very tightly. The alignment of the parts is slightly off by a millimeter or two which on first glance is not noticeable. Screwing the bolts down using the supplied Allen wrench you see the “design glitch”. I tend to believe this was done deliberately as to make sure everything was bolted down as tightly as possible using pressure ensuring the product is sturdy and durable.I read all of the reviews prior to purchasing. When I was assembling one user suggested using a cement-based glue as the screws were not enough. I used gorilla glue in all the areas that meet including the ones held together by bolts and screws. The rack feels much heavier than previous wooden and metal units I had. I like it although I have to agree with a couple of other reviewers that thing is kind of homely looking. Truth be told, practicality and durability win over aesthetics. The color however does match with the rest of my furniture hehehe.Really hard to assemble! Am not sure how long it will last.I found this online at one of the larger department stores but didn’t want to pay what they were asking. I did a google search and found the exact same one on Amazon for a fraction of the price. It’s perfect for all of our jackets, hats, scarves and umbrellas! This item is very sturdy and easy to assemble and gorgeous. But there’s something else I would like to address. It had one broken piece when I got it. And through Amazon I got a hold of the manufacture, they were quick to respond to my questions, only needed a few pieces of information to take care of my needs. And within four days I had my new part. Besides the high quality of this item the customer service is outstanding also. I would highly recommend it. I couldn’t be more pleased.I am Having a hard time finding anything to report that I was not pleased with so I will just leave it with this. The directions to put it together could have been a little clearer, and it would have been nice to have another person to help put it together, but once it is put together, it looks just like you would expect it to. It holds a lot of umbrellas, and canes and even my camera tried-pod. The hooks are great for jackets. It seems very sturdy, I hope it holds up well to water. Time will tell.I put this together myself which for me is a pretty big deal. A few of the wooden pegs were too big so I tried to shave them down a bit to get it together. There still are a few gaps that shouldn't be due to the pegs size, but honestly it looks really nice if you don't look too close. I'm sure most handy people would be able to get this together with no problems. For the price it's a really beautiful coat rack. This is exactly what I wanted. However, there were flaws in the wood and I’m not sure it will stand up to what it is supposed to do. They should send a color crayon for the flaws in the color. The crack in the wood and the bending on one of the pieces have me worried. Too much trouble for me to return this piece of furniture. I'm not sure what to do. So I put it together. Also the hooks were difficult to drill as the holes did not line up as the bottom screw is directly in front of the bottom piece of the hooks so angling the screw driver was extremely hard. Had to have a drink after dealing with this.If you are looking for a unscratched and unbroken pieces, please buy something else.1-missing whole for the 4 little pieces of wood that lie against the pole. I had to saw the little rod with a knife.2-the piece inside the pole that hold the pole at the bottom broke so now it won’t hold cause it’s loose.3-one of the side was brokenbut still hanging. Will have to glue it or paint it cause now it’s the color or wood (beige).4-the holes for the hooks aren’t aligned so can only put one screw. It’s beautiful but not sure how long it will last for 92$+tax!The item was expansive compared to others on the market. You can get much cheaper one in metal finish. I wanted this one because of the wood finish that matches my door entrance bench. The overall quality is below my expectations. I had an issue with the bottom screw holding the plate. Had to install another wood screw instead. Also, now that the product is fully assembled, we clearly see it's not leveled up. The top section is bending on one side. I'm not fully happy with the product unfortunately. I know I can return it since it's Amazon, but that means deasembling everything that try to put all back in the orignal box... Good luck for that!It looked like it was going to be a nice umbrella stand and unfortunately we didn’t open it until it was past returning as we were busy setting up our Condo.....From the get go the first screw to go into the base would not tighten to balance and hold the Center piece together and eventually the insert screw from the pole came out (SEE PIC BELOW).We ended up with a piece of furniture that was made very poorly and are out now our $$.....DO NOT BUY THIS.Put the thing together, looks decent as a coat rack but there were missing screws and also the legs are not level once the install is complete. This was easy to put together on my own, and it looks great in my entry way! Holds all my umbreallas and hiking poles, and mitts and stuff!
