I love this ...I got this in black... It's sleek and modern. This has a smooth coating but not the glossy cheap looking black. The cabinet is heavy and solid. If you have small children that climb or hang on furniture, I would say you need to bolt it to the wall. I have this on carpet in my personal office & no children here so not a problem for me. Easy to put together... the instructions were mostly pictures .. few words but clear enough. The shipping was on time. Packed well. The only 2 negatives I have is: 1. The packaging that keeps the product from damage is that horrible foam that crumbles... I have dealt with that foam many times with things that are shipped to me. My solution is to keep a small hand vac or a regular vac nearby and carefully unwrap and vac as you go. Put your foam pieces, plastic wrapping in a garbage bag , you will have less of a mess. Remove the box and foam from the house as soon as you finish unwrapping.. 2 I am sensitive to smells.. this may not bother you but... The product has a chemical odor when you unpack it, I think that you should have air circulation /an open window/fan/ or open door when you unpack this. I had my door open and fan on blowing the air outside. Once the box and packaging is removed from house/office... The smell leaves within 15 min in a well circulated area. I really like the way it looks that I am thinking of getting a second one to replace another shelf.
